A college degree in mathematics
can lead to many opportunities and careers because the analytical thinking
skills developed through the study of mathematics are useful in many
other areas of work and study. Our majors have earned master’s
and doctoral degrees, they have become high school and university teachers,
researchers, actuaries, computer scientists, engineers, lawyers, and
physicians. To learn more about the many career opportunities in mathematics,

The Mathematics Department offers
two Bachelor degree programs and secondary teacher certification for
students who choose to major in mathematics. Our mathematics majors
often major in a second field, particularly physics or computer science.
We also offer general education courses and courses for students who
need an understanding of mathematics to support their chosen area of
study. To see why SAU is a great place to study math, click here.
